PhD: CIFRE PhD thesis: Bayesian Calibration of Battery Aging Model
Where: Paris region,
France
What:
The automotive sector is (still) a major source of greenhouse gas emissions. Battery electric vehicles (BEVs) can reduce those life-cycle emissions, provided their batteries deliver sufficient performance and durability. To shift entirely to green cars, driving range and battery degradation are among the main concerns. Within this PhD thesis, and in close cooperation with car manufacturer Stellantis, a new battery aging model is to be calibrated within a Bayesian framework. This approach is supposed to enable robust inference under data scarcity and noise, while providing full posterior distributions of the model parameters. Beyond improved predictive robustness, the resulting parameter distributions are expected to offer valuable physical insight into the relative influence of individual stress factors on the battery aging mechanisms.
